CONTRACT UPDATE

The Union has successfully negotiated the payments of Hazmat differentials to members no longer assigned to the Hazmat unit. They will continue to be paid to maintain their certification.

All retroactive payments and increases have been received. There is a .25% increase due as of August 28, 2010.

We have requested our Research and Negotiations Department to delve into the best way our members may benefit from the .25% increase.

 

February 17, 2011: A meeting was held with the city to discuss where the .25% increase should be applied to and how should it be distributed. The city only had calculation amounts for years in title not years of service. I explained to the city we are not interested in any calculations with years in title. We only want calculations with years of service. When they have the new calculations a new meeting would be scheduled.
