The Command Order 2009-227 regarding positive pay is for EMTs and Medics only. Members of EMD as per our contract will also receive positive pay. Officers assigned to the field will continue to be paid 75 hours per pay period because the city considers us FLSA exempt. The EMTs and Medics will not be losing money they will be paid differently. Their pay will be for actual time worked. If the platoon they work didn't reach the 1957 guaranteed hours at the end of the year they would be given the difference in a lump sum payment. Example: platoon A worked 1930 hours for the year. They would receive a payment of 27 hours at the end of the year because we are all guaranteed to be paid 1957 hours a year as per the contract.
