President’s Report

April 14, 2010

Impact Bargaining: Our intention to file for impact bargaining for new members required to maintain their Paramedic certification has been denied. The voluntary acceptance of members that currently maintain the Paramedic certification waives the Union right for additional compensation. (Discussion with members regarding the issue). I’m meeting with Legal next week to discuss the Station Based / Battalion Based issue.

The changes that were mentioned during the March GM have been completed. (The corrections will be read at the April GM). *Note: The letter to be mailed to AFSCME with the exact wording of the motion will be read at the March and April General Membership Meeting (GM). Upon approval of the membership at the April GM. The motion will be mailed to AFSCME requesting the amendment become part of our constitution.
